Artist's Statement
I work until I reach a place where I feel satisfied. I hope my paintings will evoke similar satisfaction in others. My process uses layers of acrylic paint applied abundantly and then scraped back. Some paints are applied with my hands somatically encoding them with the movements of my fingers. Oil pastels are used to bring emphasis to parts of the paintings and a note of whimsy can often be found in simpler markings throughout the pieces.
Biography
Emma Lindsay is an Irish artist living in Greystones, Co Wicklow. She has a background in Social Science (UCD) and Applied Social Research (TCD). She works with abstract expressionism, using acrylic paint and oil pastel to explore somatic experiences. She engages whimsy in her style, encoding paintings with vibrancy and alertness. Space and experience morph through the layers of paint as it is applied and scraped back, revealing steady abstract expressions.

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may initiate a return within 14 days of delivery for a full refund of your original payment (minus return shipping costs). Items must be in as-received condition and in their original packaging to qualify for a refund or exchange.
