Artist's Statement
The objects that fill my paintings, the colourful ceramic bowls, earthenware jugs, vases of blooms and patterned plates that often appear hold more than just an intrinsic value, speak to me of the comforts of home and hearth and of familiarity.
This current body of contemporary still lifes sing to the simplicity of these much-loved objects in paintings which are suffused with layers of colour and areas of rich pattern.
What excites me about making pictures is trying to capture the essence of a thing and I have always been attracted to vivid colours and the decorative qualities in everyday objects.
Biography
Liza Kavanagh graduated in 1996 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Limerick School of Art and Design. In 2010 she was chosen to represent Ireland in 'Horsemania', a public art event held in Lexington, Kentucky, USA. Liza’s work is held in both public and private collections and she is currently represented by Canvas Galleries, Belfast and Magpie Contemporary Art, Surrey.

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may initiate a return within 14 days of delivery for a full refund of your original payment (minus return shipping costs). Items must be in as-received condition and in their original packaging to qualify for a refund or exchange.
