My images are of a universal landscape where a generic hybrid creature is central. By attempting to evolve allegorical concepts, the images I create celebrate the commonality between mankind and all other species - past, present and future.
From historic Lough Gur, Co. Limerick, Robert Ryan graduated from Limerick College of Art and Design in 1987. He has exhibited nationally and internationally since and his work is in a large number of prestigious public and private collections in Ireland and abroad.
At the very genesis of Ryan's work is a respect for a "universal creature". A lifelong passion for the natural world and travel has greatly informed his evocative images. Ryan borrows qualities from the European old masters but uses traditional painting characteristics in a post-modern context. Allegorical concepts such as solitude, the infinity of space and time, vulnerability and the fragility of life are explored in his work.

Once your order has been processed, you will receive a shipping confirmation message by email and/or text message that contains your unique tracking number. Please allow 3-10 business days for delivery within the UK and Ireland, 4-15 business days for European orders, and up to 28 business days for any orders outside the EU.
If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may initiate a return within 14 days of delivery for a full refund of your original payment (minus return shipping costs). Items must be unused and in their original packaging to qualify for a refund or exchange.
